Denise DiNoto is a speech-language pathologist, writer and disability advocate. She is employed as the Communications and Outreach Specialist at Consumer Directed Choices and spends her work days promoting self-directed home care for seniors and people with disabilities.
Denise was named Ms. Wheelchair New York 2001, and went on to become First Runner Up Ms. Wheelchair America 2002. She volunteered as the state coordinator of Ms. Wheelchair New York for 12 years, creating a program that is now twenty years strong. Denise also served on the Ms. Wheelchair America Board of Directors for 10 years – as Secretary, Vice President and Executive Director.
She is a volunteer leader and a past president of the Stratton VA Toastmasters and The College of Saint Rose Alumni Association. In 2021, she was appointed as the Alumni Representative to The College of St. Rose Board of Trustees.
In 1990, at the age of sixteen, Denise left her home state of New York for her year as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student to Tasmania (Australia) becoming one of the first students with a mobility impairment to successfully complete an exchange. She gives presentations about her year, inspiring others to “Say Yes, Do it All.”
Denise continues to serve Rotary at the Club and District level. She is a proud member of the Colonie-Guilderland (NY) Club, serving two terms as President (2016-2018). She served as the District Public Image Chair and will be the District Governor for Rotary District 7190 (Eastern Upstate NY) in the 2022-2023 year.
